Raja Ravi Varma - The Greatest painter in the history of Indian art
Raja Ravi Varma was an Indian painter from the state of Kerala ( Travancore ). He painted several scenes from the epics of the Mahabharata and Ramayana.In his paintings Indian tradition and beauty of Indian ladies appears most.He also painted Hindu Goddesses and epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata.
Raja Ravi Varma won the first prize in the Vienna Art Exhibition in 1873. His paintings were also sent to the World's Colombian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893 and he was awarded two gold medals. Raja Ravi Varma died in 1906 at the age of 58. He is one of the most among the greatest painters in the Indian art culture.
