She is a daughter of actor Sandhya.She is the general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party.Jayalalithaa was introduced to politics by M. G. Ramachandran who is also the former actor and Ex-CM of Tamilanadu state.
