MGR (Marudhur Gopalan Ramachandran) was an actor and served as a chief minister of Tamilnadu.By birth MGR was a Malayali but was born in Srilanka and later emigrated to TamilNadu at the age of four.He is one of the member of DMK party but he left In 1972 formed his own party the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK). In 1977 he became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and he is the first film actor in India to become the chief minister of a state.
